24% Of Google Searches Are Local! Business Matters On The WWW

MarketingProf’s had a very interesting article this morning about local search engine requests.  They even broke fit down into by search engines.  Local traffic from Google was 24.24%Bing rang in at 28.8% and Yahoo was 25.28%.  The study was done by Chitika Insights.  No matter what type of business you have, if it’s local you can bet people are searching for it on the internet.  So you might want to make sure your online presence is where it’s suppose to be.

Found an article today about how to more effectively engage your Facebook fans. It provides 9 ‘tips’ to help you get your clients to remember who you are! Sound weird? Let’s lay some groundwork before we get to the 9 tips:

Primarily I would like to talk about the amount of sincerity that goes into your social media. The point of social media is to engage your customers and potential clients. When you’re on your Facebook Page you’re representing your business. Half of the problem is that businesses look at social media as a way to shove information down peoples’ throats. What you should be doing is engaging them! There’s a huge different between showing off and providing useful information.

All right. I’m into this article for two reasons. #1 – it’s just a good article about getting the perfect domain. #2 – Jane Porter mentions Jersey in the first example. For many reasons I’m a big proponent of domains. Many times I’m a big proponent of having a few domains. They cost $14 each a year! Why wouldn’t you have at least two!
